Indian Pitta (Pitta brachyura) is a winter visitor to South India. Brilliant colors of the bird has got the name Navrang, meaning nine colors, in Hindi. It is usually active at early dawn or at dusk.
This brid was on to-photograph list for long time. Thanks to Eldhose, not only did I see this bird for the first time, but also photographed this beautiful bird at Thattekad.
